haha ..we went on a romantic sunset cruise on lewivle. it was good..first i thought abbulu will not njoy it but later we both njoyed the ride..abbulu was jumping like a restless monkey when the sun sank into the lake during the sunset..after tht there was pleasant pollution free cool breeze flowing into the cruise and we decided to plan throw our wedding anniv bash there 🙂 i wore a tank top and for once did not feel out of place ..yayyy 😀

but it was lil sunny though .at least the first hour..and abbulu’s musings for cold beer was a delightful fun to watch 😛

Look I am an Indian, and I think that there are a few things all of you need to know.

America is not going anywhere for now. The fundamentals of your future lie in the hands of your people, especially the select few who have a vision and can buck the status quo. As long as you have plenty of such individuals you are going to weather any geo-political storm.

Whereas in my nation life is so linear that it is a goddamn joke.

Almost every kid is expected to be an engineer and most of these engineers hardly even know what the hell they are talking about. As Feynman would say their knowledge is fragile.

Our educational system itself is a joke. Trust me on this.

At the same time entrepeneurs are discouraged and looked down upon. They are sorta treated with ice, as everyone wants a *son* in an MNC with a prestigous MBA. So, basically our society is choking itself. Sure, these people are awesome paper pushers, but despite the fact that some of them do have a decent brain they all seem to fail to do anything different.

No revolutions are put into motion. No brilliant new synthesis are formulated. No groundbreaking patents are filed. In short, the truly important stuff is in stasis.

Your society whereas pushes its outliers and that is why, as Kay once put it, most software is written on one side of the atlantic. I think that you should stop looking at IBM and start looking at MIT. That is where your future lies.

And seriously drop all of that economics mumbo-jumbo. As the foundations of society are the ability to create things, transport those things and dessiminate them. I think that those earning a living by making a killing in stocks are living a sham.

Oh and Thomas Jefferson would kill himself if he saw Bush in action. Despite his failings Obama is, at least, a breath of fresh air. So, value him for that. At least he had the courage (unlike me) to step up to the plate.

I just loved the confusion janice is in rite now..

Mujhe Job mil gaya finally. But in BOSTON :(. It is a great company.  Total quality work. Its a DB company. I’m very excited with the job profile.I said i would probably need time. mujhe ek aur offer aaya hai is mail compose karte time WYZ se.. . ajeeb situation hai

and what an irony..she applied for just one job outside cali and she got it..vandy dying to be in boston ended up in cali and janice dying to be with her bro in cali ended up in boston 😐

i am glad we went to this movie abbulu..we even used our 1$ pop corn coupon 🙂

the story telling and unveiling of the story were just mind blowing..very similar to avatar..but that was a piece of crap..this one is carved to perfection ..the dream inside a dream and the way the story progresses is just too good..but at the end is comb trapped in a limbo or will he wake up or it is a new story altogether (sequel) when he gets the kick ?

i loved the movie..i wish we got seats a little futher away from the screen..it would have made my experience more memorable 🙂

egg explosion in microwave July 24, 2010

OMG ! that was freaking explosion in the microwave..i read about “how to boil egg in microwave” over the internet and guess what! i boiled water for 3 mins and then put the egg for 8 mins ..it explored after 3 mins ..so it just takes some 6 mins for an egg to be hard boiled in microwave and of course depending on the temperature..

it made a big mess in the kitchen..first of all ..both of us got scared..it was all water, and egg all over the kitchen, stove, beneath..it was very yuk to even look at the roof of the microwave..the corelle bowl and plate were safe..they did not have any problem..thank got it was not right in my face and i just switched off the cooker on the stove a second before that..

we both had to clean up the entire thing..the microwave, the stove and everything..it took an hour..we were already hungry and bcoz of my ghana krayam we couldnt even eat ..since it was egg..it also started stinking fast..when i switched on the stove..it was stiking like hell as if i was cook raw pork right in the house.

anyway..i learnt tht it was easier to wash a dish and boil the egg in water on stove rather than put in a microwave and make a mess out of whole thing ! phew ! 😐

too long a wait for facial – good only for eyebrows

after ashima experience during break i had the heena beauty parlour’s experience today. i got my eyebrows done before, its really cheap and quick..u have to take ur number and wait..but the wait for facial was very long, tiring, frustrating and irritating..the quality was average …not a value for money..since its cheap it may be worth its value of 30 bucks..so getting a facial done in a place like heena is a bad idea especially considering the long wait of 1 hour to get into the room and when saving time is a priority ..but the lady who did the service was good at b/w head removal..the same steam problem as with ashimas..but ashimas is better since there are no customers and they attend to each one patiently..heena place looks like everyone is in a hurry to finish and call number..i was 99 and when i left the place it was 59 ..booo 😦 they were in fact enthusiastic in attending waxing services even though facial was priced higher..strange maverick employees of heena

abbulu i feel bad about it..i spent a year..worked really hard to pull up my gpa..spent lakhs on that degree..but i really dont know what i can do about it..as u say “ha my first ticket and i became wiser”… i also became wiser with the experience of an ivy..but is it for any good? i really dont know 😦

today i went into an aunty party at radi’s house..it was her baby shower..i just couldnt believe tht time flies here ..just 3 weeks after coming here i already became an aunty..all the aunties were the typical desi housewives types…showing off all their jewelery (wonder if it gold or 1 gram gold) , gossiping, back biting and being jealous abt others (i mean in general)

i did not njoy the place much..i just liked the food bcoz i know cannot go back to india till 2 yrs to have such a sumptuous dinner…ppl were scaring abt kids, cost, hospitals, pain and what not…all these things and the aunty’s lifestyle is building pressure in me to quickly find a job in dls..i wonder whtz gonna happen..it just made me depressed and my day gloomy
